Affiliation

Upon receipt of an application for affiliation, the Chairman shall appoint one or more inspection teams to visit the schools. These teams will conduct visits as directed by the Board authorities, ensuring that their reports are submitted to the Board in a timely manner. Upon receiving the inspection reports, the Chairman will review them and, if satisfied, issue orders to either grant or reject affiliation. Alternatively, the Chairman may decide to conduct further inquiries if deemed necessary.

Privately managed institutions are required to submit detailed plans of their existing infrastructure and available facilities, along with the application form. They must also provide the names and qualifications of the staff they intend to employ, including consent letters from those individuals, and pay the fees as prescribed by the Board from time to time. The Board will communicate any objections raised by the inspection teams or screening committees to the schools via registered post within 15 days.

Schools must address these objections before resubmitting their application. After considering the revised application, the competent authority will pass final orders on the request for affiliation. No school is permitted to admit students until it has been formally affiliated with the Board.

When granting affiliation, the Board will specify the particular classes and streams for which affiliation is granted, especially for classes 10+2. The Board will also take into account the available facilities, including laboratories, to determine the maximum number of students that may be admitted to each class, subject, or stream.

Schools granted affiliation must display their affiliation number on official stationery and prominently post a copy of the affiliation letter on their notice board. This document should clearly state the classes and streams for which affiliation is granted, as well as the maximum number of students allowed per class and subject.

Each school is required to submit to the Board a class-wise, subject-wise, and stream-wise list of students for the relevant academic year. Admissions should generally be completed by the final admission date, although late admissions may be granted under special circumstances, subject to the payment of late fees.

Affiliation will only be granted once all required facilities, such as buildings, laboratories, and classrooms, are fully completed. Within 15 days of the start of the academic year, the school must provide the Board with comprehensive information about the staff that has been hired, including their names, qualifications, and photographs. If any teacher resigns or is terminated, the school must notify the Board within 15 days and provide details of the new appointment.

The composition of the inspection committee will be determined by the Chairman. The officers or team members conducting the inspection will prepare a detailed report based on their observations and inquiries.

This report will be submitted to the Chairman, who will then decide whether to grant provisional affiliation, reject the application, or accord permanent affiliation based on the merits and the norms established by the Board.

The competent authority will issue final orders regarding the granting or rejection of an application, either in whole or in part, or pass any other order it deems appropriate. Provisional affiliation may be granted for one year, subject to the fulfillment of certain conditions within a stipulated period. This provisional affiliation can be extended annually or granted for up to five years at the discretion of the competent authority. For an institution to qualify for permanent affiliation, it must have been provisionally affiliated with the Board for no less than five years.
